Gisela was born in 0989.  Gisela's father was Geza Arpad and her mother was Adelajda Piast.  Her paternal grandfather was Taksony Arpad; her maternal grandparents were Mieszko I. Piast and Doubravka Przemyslovna. She had a sister named Sarolta. She had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Istvan I. "Szent", Laszlo "the Bald", Vazul "the Blind", ?, ? and ?.  She died at the age of 37 in 1026.
