Sofie Charlotte was born in 1743. Sofie Charlotte's father was Viktor I. Amadeus Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym, von and her mother was Hedwig Sofie Henckel von Donnersmarck. Her paternal grandparents were Lebrecht Anhalt-Bernburg-Hoym, von and Charlotte Nassau-Schaumburg, de. She had four brothers and a sister, named Friedrich, Viktor Amadeus, Karl, Georg and Hedwig. She was the second oldest of the six children. She had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Lebrecht, Christian, Karl, Adolf, Viktoria Charlotte and Luise. She died at the age of 38 in 1781.
