Budivoj was born in 1594.  Budivoj's father was Jan Jiøí Stoš z Kounic and his mother was Kateøina Tøemešská ze Železna.  His paternal grandparents were Jiøík Stoš z Kounic and Anna Cedlicová z Brusnice. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Jiøík, Jan Pøech, Adam Mikuláš, Kateøina and Saloména.  He died at the age of 25 in 1619.
