Leopoldina was born in 1791. Leopoldina's father was František Josef Václav Šternberka, ze and her mother was Franziska Schönborn, von. Her paternal grandfather was František Filip Kristián Šternberka, ze and her paternal grandmother is Augusta Leopolda Manderscheidu, z. She had four sisters named Augusta Františka, Kristiána, Ervina and Marie Františka Leopolda. She was the oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 82 in 1873.
