Violante was born in 1670. Violante's father was Francisco Sousa-Chicorro, de and her mother is Elena de Portugal Almeyda, de. Her paternal grandfather was Antonio Sousa-Chicorro, de and her paternal grandmother is Leonor de Mello de Faria Coelho. She had two brothers named Filippe and Joao.
