Robert was born on March 18th, 1856 in Slabce.  Robert's father was Hugo Nostitz-Rieneck and his mother was Marie Kristina Eleonora Clam-Martinic.  His paternal grandfather was Bedøich Jan Chrysostom Nostitz-Rieneck and his paternal grandmother is Anna Periez de Bourdet; his maternal grandfather was Karel Johann Clam-Martinic and his maternal grandmother is Selina Meade Quilfort. He had two brothers and a sister, named Karel Ervin, Jindøich and Selina.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 73 on July 16th, 1929 in Regensburg.
