Václav Josef's father was Maximilian Malovec z Chýnova and his mother is Josefa Františka Khuen-Bellasy.  His paternal grandfather was Ferdinand Ignác Malovec z Chýnova and his paternal grandmother is Barbora Anna Janovská z Janovic. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Arnošt, Karel Josef Maximilian, Emanuel Josef, Marie Anna and Johana Maxmiliana.  He died in 1768.
