Aline was born in 1826. Aline's father was Friedrich Christian Kotzau, von and her mother was Caroline Jähnichen. Her paternal grandparents were Friedrich Christian Kotzau, von and Charlotte Vietinghoff, von. She had three brothers and a sister, named Friedrich, Emil, Richard and Clementine. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 56 in 1882.
