František Ferdinand was born in 1678.  František Ferdinand's father was Václav Norbert Oktavian Kinský z Vchynic a Tetova and his mother was Anna Františka Barbora Boøitová z Martinic.  His paternal grandparents were Jan Oktavian Kinský z Vchynic a Tetova and Margaretha Magdalena Porcia und Brugnera, von; his maternal grandparents were Maximilian Valentin Boøita z Martinic and Anna Kateøina Bukùvková z Bukùvky. He had four brothers and a sister, named Štìpán Vilém, Jan Václav Oktavian, František Antonín, Bernard and Johanna. He had three half-brothers named Filip Josef, Josef Jan and František Karel.  He died at the age of 63 in 1741.  He was buried in chrám sv. Salvátora, Praha.
