Václav VIII. was born in 1598.  Václav VIII.'s father was Jan XI. starší Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz and his mother was Marie Anna Myšková ze Žlunic.  His paternal grandparents were Jiøík starší "Václav" Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz and Markéta Jestøibská z Riesenburka; his maternal grandparents are Oldøich Myška ze Žlunic and Johanka Rabenhauptová ze Suché. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Jan Jindøich, Jiøí Kryštof, Vilém, Rudolf, Zikmund, Magdalena, Magdalena, Eufemie, Eliška and Markéta.  He died at the age of 20 in 1618.  He was buried in Chvalkovice.
