Julie Josephine was born in March 1796 in Genoa.  Julie Josephine's father was Joseph Bonaparte and her mother was Juliette Clary.  Her paternal grandparents were Carlo Maria Buonaparte and Maria Laetitia Ramolino; her maternal grandparents are Francois Clary and Francoise Somis. She had two sisters named Zénaide and Charlotte.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died in March 1796 in Genoa.
