Maafio's father was Mante Isaiah Lartey and her mother was Ruth Bennett.  Her paternal grandparents were Nana Dompreh and <Unknown>.  She was the second of six children.  She had two brothers and three sisters, named Wofa Atta, Uncle Joe, Mary, Enisia and Awo.  She had a half-brother named Papa Kofi.
