Wofa Atta's father was Mante Isaiah Lartey and his mother was Ruth Bennett.  His paternal grandparents were Nana Dompreh and <Unknown>.  He was the fourth of six children.  He had a brother and four sisters, named Uncle Joe, Mary, Maafio, Enisia and Awo.  He had a half-brother named Papa Kofi.  He died due to a medical problem in 2005.
