Bhanumathi's father was Venkataswamy Sajjala and her mother was Manikyamma (d/o Chodagam Brahmaiah, Ponnur) Sajjala.  Her paternal grandparents were Subba Raayudu Naidu Sajjala and Laxmi Devamma (Paidipalla gothram, Jayavaram kapurasthulu, Bellamkonda Veeraiah gaari Kumaarthi) Sajjala. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Sathyanarayana Rao, Bhavanarayana , Aravinda and Narayanamma.  She died due to natural causes or old age.
