Bridget, known as Delia, was born on February 21st, 1902.  Delia's father was Patrick McCabe and her mother was Eleanor Carey.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas McCabe and Mary O'Brien; her maternal grandparents were Eamon Carey and Catherine Drudy. She had two sisters named Mamie and Sarah.  She was the second oldest of the three children.
