Pál was born in 1826 in Gelej.  Pál's father was Pál Szomódi and his mother was Zsuzsanna Kovács.  His paternal grandparents were József Szomódi and Borbála Makrai ????. He had a sister named Julianna.  He was the older of the two children.  He died due to natural causes or old age, aggkori végkimerülés, at the age of 68 on November 24th, 1894 in Gelej.
