István was born on February 24th, 1857 in Aranyos 196 and his christening took place on February 25th, 1857 in Aranyos conducted by minister Sólyom János.1   His godfather was Tóbiás János and his godmother was Kis Susanna.  István's father was István Diószegi and his mother was Susanna Érsok. He had a brother and two sisters, named János, Eszter and Julianna.
