Elizabeth Sidney 
Elizabeth's father was Sir Phillip Sidney (Poet) and her mother was Frances Walsingham. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Robert, Frances and Dorothy.General Notes
He married Elizabeth Sidney, daughter of Sir Philip Sidney and stepdaughter of Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex, on 5 March 1599. The marriage was childless, and is widely believed to have been unhappy. It has been speculated that the marriage was not consummated, possibly because Rutland had syphilis, which may also have been the cause of Rutland's rapidly declining health in his last years.[7]
