Robert Shirley (6th Earl Ferrers) 
Robert was born in 1723. Robert's father was Hon. Laurence Shirley and his mother was Anne Clarges. His paternal grandparents were Robert Shirley (1st Earl Ferrers) and Elizabeth Washington. He had three brothers named Laurence, Washington and Walter. He was the second youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 64 in 1787.General Notes
He succeeded to the title of 12th Baronet Shirley, of Staunton Harold [E., 1611] on 11 October 1778.3 He succeeded to the title of 6th Earl Ferrers [G.B., 1711] on 11 October 1778.3 He was also known as 6th Viscount Tamworth, of co. Stafford [G.B., 1711] as of 11 October 1778.3
