George Cholmondeley (1st Marq., 4th Earl, KG) 
George was born in 1749. George's father was George Cholmondeley (Viscount Malpas) and his mother was Hester Edwards. His paternal grandparents were George Cholmondeley (3rd Earl) and Mary Walpole. He was an only child. He died at the age of 78 in 1827.General Notes
George James Cholmondeley, K.G., 4th Earl of Cholmondeley, lord steward of the household and chamberlain of Chester, only son and heir, born 11 May 1749 and created 1st Marquess of Cholmondeley and Earl Rocksavage 22 November 1816, died 10 April 1827 and buried at Malpas. Inherited Savage family property from his great aunt, Penelope Barry, who had married James Cholmondeley, third son of George 2nd Earl Cholmondeley, as shown below in generation 5.
