Thomas was born in 1911.  Thomas' father was Michael Ashe and his mother was Bridget Murphy (Ashe).  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Ashe and Mary Hassett or Holly (Ashe); his maternal grandparents are John Murphy and Johanna (Murphy). He had four brothers and two sisters, named Jim, Bob, Willard, John, Mildred and Elizabeth.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 20 in 1931.
