Sarah was born in March 1862 in Little Budworth.1  Sarah's father was Thomas Young and his mother was Mary Gerrard. He had a brother and two sisters, named Robert, Ellen and Elizabeth.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 5 in June 1867 in Great Boughton.2
