Thomas' father was Henry Wiswall and his mother was Jane Mather.  His maternal grandparents were John Mather and Betty Baxter. He had two sisters named Elizabeth and Jane.  He was the oldest of the three known children.  He died at the age of 25 in February 1845 in Billinge.  He was buried on February 27th, 1845 at St. Aidan (Billinge).¹
