Ann's father was John Walmsley and her mother was Alice Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Ann Howarth. She had a brother and two sisters, named James, Mary and Sarah. She was the second oldest of the four known children. She died at the age of 14 in July 1828 in Blackburn. Her burial was on July 20th, 1828 in Blackburn.²
