Joseph was born in April 1820 in Acton by Nantwich and his baptism took place there on April 2nd, 1820.¹

Birth Notes

Joseph's father was Richard Vicars and his mother was Fanny (Frances) Brereton. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Brereton and Hannah Vicars. He had three sisters named Hannah, Catherine and Sarah. He was the second oldest of the four children.
