21 Apr 1840, William Turner (24), son of Isaac Turner married Martha Mather (26), dau of Edward at Wigan. There were five children born before 1840, and some were probably illegitimate.
In 1841, William Turner (25) was a weaver, living with Ruth Mather and her daughter Martha (35) at Roger's Farm, Westhoughton. Although recently married, he is listed after the Mather family and Martha is still a MATHER, not TURNER.
In 1861, William and Martha (44 & 57) are farmers with son Isaac (19, unmarried) at Rogers Farm
