Phyllis was born on July 3rd, 1916 in Birkenhead.1  Phyllis' father was Archibald Turner and her mother was Edith Mary Rigby.  Her paternal grandparents were John Turner and Alice Martha Pritchard. She had a brother and two sisters, named Ronald, Edith and Elsie.  She was the oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 87 in November 2003 in Birkenhead.2
