Doctor was born in 1867 in Withnell and his baptism took place there on September 1st, 1867.1  Doctor's father was Robert Mather Taylor and his mother was Mary Ann Kay.  His paternal grandparents were John Taylor and Mary Mather. He had six brothers named William, James, Joseph, Bernard, David and Kay.  He was the youngest of the seven children.
