Matilda's birth certificate confirms that she is the daughter of Rebecca Ann Robinson, and no father listed. Matilda was born 28 March 1843 at Leymoor Bottom in Golcar. Her mother registered her birth, apparently on the same day, and signed with a mark

Matilda was born at Golcar and her husband Henry Dyson nearby at Longwood.
Grandmother (adopted) of Hannah, living at Wood End, Golcar, Yorkshire in 1851. Probable illegitamate child of Rebecca, or another unknown sibling.
In 1851, "Martha" (8) was living in Wood End, Leymore Bottom, Golcar as granddaughter of Hannah Robinson (widow). She is most likely Rebecca's daughter. George Ward, (loger, 52) was living with them.
In 1861, "Matilda" (18) is living with George Ward (63) and Hannah Robinson (67). Betty and John Dyson are also with them.
Probably married (or died) by 1871, but can find no record of either.
