Jenny (Jinney) born 8 May 1804 was the "Base" daughter of Peggy Ryding of Adlington, baptised at Wigan All Saints on 4 June 1804. On Jenny's 3rd mariage her father is shows as Thomas Alker, a Blacksmith.
In 1828, Jane Ridings, spinster married Isaac Mather, a widow at St. Peters (Bolton).
In 1829, Jane (recorded as Jenny) and Isaac had daughter Ann and in 1831 a son Isaac. Ann died in 1837, aged 7.
On 29 June 1835, after her husband Isaac Mather died, Jane Mather (widow) married Henry Mather (bachelor). It was probably her uncle Jonathan, i.e. John Ridings, who was witness. Henry was Isaac's nephew.
In April 1841, Jane's second husband Henry Mather died, aged only 29 and is buried at Blackrod. The June census shows Jane (35, cotton weaver) living alone with her son Isaac (10) at New Street, Aspull.
In 1851, Jane Riding (49) and her son Isaac Mather (28) were living with her brother Hugh Riding at Adlington. Jane and Isaac Dodd are also recorded at Lostock, so was Jane living in two places?
