Job's father was Thomas Openshaw and his mother was Jane Tomlinson. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named John, Thomas, Sarah, Mary, Hannah, Catherine, Sarah, Harriet, Elizabeth and Catherine. He was the nineth oldest of the eleven children.
