Annie was born in 1894 in Little Neston.1   Annie's father was Thomas Millington and her mother was Annie Williams.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Millington and <unknown>. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Thomas, Owen, Elizabeth and May.  She was the fourth oldest of the six children.
