A William Mather died in Little Bolton in 1842 but who is he? Is he related to our L.B. Mather family?
From the 1841 census (Barlow Row, L.B.) it appears that William and Jane (both 45) are husband and wife, with Helen (15) and James (8). However, there is no Bolton marriage for such, althouth there is one at Eccles. Helen (and James) are probably from a previous marriage.
William died in 1842, aged 50 so was born about 1792. The closest matching Bolton baptisms, is for son of James and Sarah. This fits will with his children's names.
William married Catherine, but she died in 1834 so William's children were brought up by him and "Jane". Wow is Jane Mather related?
