Susannah (Sarah) Mather

Susannah, known as Sarah, was born on February 15th, 1837 in Walmersley and her baptism took place on March 12th, 1837 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).^1 2

Sarah's father was Richard Mather and her mother was Hannah Sharples.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Mary Evans. She had a brother and three sisters, named William, Ann, Mary and Sarah.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She was adopted by Samuel Mather & Alice Greenhalgh. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Thomas, Robert, Frances, Esther and Alice.  She died at the age of 50 in May 1887 in Bury.  She was buried on May 16th, 1887 at St. Paul (Bury).³
