Peter, known as Petrus, was born in 1684 in Kearsley and his baptism took place on August 13th, 1684 at St. Mary (Deane).1  Petrus' father was John Mather and his mother was <unknown>. He had a brother and two sisters, named Richard, Elizabeth and Mary.  He was the youngest of the four children.
