Margaret's father was John William Mather and her mother was Elizabeth Williams. Her paternal grandparents were James Henry Mather and Martha Williamson. She had two brothers and two sisters, named James, Eric, Eveline and Elsie. She was the oldest of the five children.

General Notes
- Margaret is from Sharples and before John W and Elizabeth married, so possibly from another MATHER & WILLIAMS family, but cant be the Oldham family (as they had James William Mather the same year).
