General Notes
From 1814 to 1819, Luke tried his hand at being a Quaker. The births of Luke, Thomas & Joseph were recorded in the Preston Quaker records.
In 1828 Luke, a widower and reed maker married Grace Jones (a widow). In 1838, Maria Burdett, Widow of Pendleton and daughter of Luke the reed maker married John Thomas at Eccles.
In 1849 Luke, now 64 a widower and still a Reed Maker at Portland Street, Manchester married a 49 yeer old Elizabeth Chapman.
Luke Mather (Reed Maker) died at Browning Street in Hulme, Manchester Dec 8 1864 of old age (Natural Decay).

Luke was still a Reed Maker, recorded on his 1829 and 1849 marriage, and on the 1841 census.
