Lambert's father was Richard Mather and his mother was Betty Booth.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Mary Rostron. He had six brothers and a sister, named William, Richard, John, John, Fred, Albert and Mary.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 83 on March 20th, 1955.
