John Mather

John was born in December 1796 in Warrington and his baptism took place on December 25th, 1796 at St. Elphin (Warrington).¹

John's father was John Mather and his mother was Ellen Cropper (Dierden).  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Margaret Newell. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Peter, Robert, Peter, Martha, Margaret, Alice, Alice and Ellen.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 42 in December 1838 in Warrington.²
