General Notes
The "twins", Esther and Jane age 1 in 1851 survived infancy as both were alive aged 11 with their parents in 1861. However, there is no birth registration for such twins. Esther is registered in 1849, and Jane appears to be illegitimate, registered in 1850.
In 1861, Jane is shown to be a granddaughter, aged 11, living at Barlow Street, Little Bolton.
18 Jan 1868 Jane Mather, a minor, daughter of John Mather a weaver of Barlow Street married Richard Knowles at St Peter, Bolton. They had Lucy in 1870 who died an infant.
