James Mather

James was born in March 1771 in Warrington and his baptism took place on March 22nd, 1771 at St. Elphin (Warrington).¹

James' father was Henry Mather and his mother was Sarah Clare. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, John, Richard, Mary, Betty, Sarah, Ellen and Kitty. He was the sixth oldest of the nine children.
