James (Jim) Mather

James, known as Jim, was born on October 9th, 1877 in Tyldesley.¹

Jim's father was Thomas Mather and his mother was Hannah Halliday. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ellen Mort. He had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Fred, Ellen, Mary and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 78 on November 12th, 1955 in Tyldesley.²
