Isaac Mather

Isaac was born on April 4th, 1790 in Turton and his baptism took place on April 18th, 1790 at Walmsley Presbyterian conducted by Thomas Davies.¹

Isaac's father was James Mather and his mother was Betty Knowles. He had two brothers and a sister, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named John, James, Margaret and <unknown>. He was the fourth oldest of the five known children. He died before 1837.

General Notes
- "Isaac" (although indexed as Frane) is very difficult to read on record, but Isaac is probably correct. He was baptised at the same time (same day) as Alice, daughter of James Holt and Sarah Howarth, both from Goose Colt Hill, Turton.
  
  Isaac may have married Sarah Jackson (3-Jan-1816). However that Isaac was 52 in 1851, a farmer of 28 acres born Turton with his son Joseph.
