Annie was born on March 31st, 1861 in Bury and her baptism took place there on May 5th, 1881.1 2  Annie's father was Joseph Mather and her mother was Annie Lilly.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and <Unknown>. She had three brothers named William, Fred and Harry.  She was the oldest of the four known children.
