Thomas was born in December 1848 in Farnworth and his baptism took place on December 10th, 1848 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Thomas' father was Benjamin Lomax and his mother was Alice Horridge. He had a brother and three sisters, named Robert, Jane, Mary and Alice.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 69 on January 7th, 1918.  He was buried in January 1918 at St. Michael (Gt. Lever).2
