Sarah was born in 1837 in Breightmet.1  Sarah's father was James Lomax and her mother was Nancy (Mary) Holt. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Henry, John, Jane, Ann and Mary.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 75 in April 1912 in Bolton.2
