Elizabeth's father was Smalshaw (Smasho) Lomax and her mother was Esther Smith. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Jeffrey, John, William, Thomas, Anne, Alice and Mary. She was the youngest of the eight children. She died at 10 months old in November 1786 in Bolton. Her burial was on November 15th, 1786 at St. Peter's (Bolton).²
