Walter was born on January 13th, 1888 in South Dakota (SD).1   Walter's father was Heinrich (Henry) Willhelm Licht and his mother was Catharine (Elise) Christiane Dorothee Elisabeth Niemann.  His paternal grandparents were Hans Wilhelm Licht and Catherine Dorothea Behrens (Kruze); his maternal grandparents were Heinrich Christoph Niemann and Catharine Dorothee Kohlmeier. He had four brothers named George, Carl, Karl and Ernest.  He was the youngest of the five known children.  He died at the age of 83 on October 8th, 1971 in Minnesota (MIN).1

‌Walter and Olga were married.  They had three sons and a daughter, named Alfred, Lester, Delbert and Dorothy.
