Anna was born in 1874 in Hannover.1  Anna's father was Hans Heinrich  Kröger and her mother was Katharine Dorothee Wedemann. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Georg, Katharine, Emma and Wilhelmine.

‌Anna and Johann were married in a religious ceremony in 1895 in Hamburg.1  The family line is yet to be completed.
