Dorothy Kay

Dorothy was born in 1810 in Goosnargh and her baptism took place on March 3rd, 1811 in Lancashire.¹

Dorothy's father was William Kay and her mother was Ellen Varley. She had three brothers and two sisters, named James, William, Edward, Ellen and Isabella. She died at the age of 42 in 1852.

- Pribably didnt die in 1852 as a letter from James Kay to Charles Aaron Crosland referes to news of his mother marrying again after his father died.

General Notes
- Dorothy was the daughgter of William Kay of Goosnargh. Soon after Dorothy emigrated to the USA, her father died. William Kay of Little Inglewhite was buried at Whitechapel 16 Oct 1842, aged 55.
  
  Lawrence Kay of Inglewhite (1832-1850), buried at Whitechapel 10 June was probably a cousin.
  
  Dorothy was 40 in 1850, in New York.
